Don't shine the spring-time sun on me.
Don't spark that light inside.
Don't spread your wings to set me free,
Just let me sit and hide.

Don't flutter in my stomach.
Don't race within my veins.
Don't warm my cheeks
and give me peace
that I know just can't stay.

Go capture someone strong enough
to thrive within your grasp.
Let loose your grip upon my heart,
release your iron clasp.

Don't give me hope.
Don't give me joy.
Don't waft into my dreams,
where all defenses fall as prey
to your enticing schemes.

Don't linger here.
Keep moving on.
Walk right by my door.

Dont' stay here any longer.
You're not welcome anymore.

Don't stay.

           ... don't stay.

I wrote this one over a year ago after a particularily painful breakup... most people write love letters, but I decided to write a letter to love itself.

I like this one, despite the memories attached to it, so I decided to make it my FEATURED DEVIATION for the month of October... well, what's left of October.

Hey all... can't figure out how to change it from "Critique Discouraged" to "Advanced Critique Encouraged"... so please... feel free to give whatever critique you want. I'm over the personal sentiment of this poem now. :D

I really like this piece, it kind of hits close to home where you dont want love and all it has to do with you , and then in the end you just dont want it to go. great piece, everything is great and its very well written.

An interesting idea. Kinda like an anti love plea with all the feelings of yearning...yearning not to be loved.
